Do I get the unused financial aid back as a check?
I recieved 1140.00 per semester for aid through my FAFSA application in the state of Geeorgia. 240.00 from Pell Grant, 100.00 for HOPE Book Grant, 50.00 for HOPE Fees Grant and 750.00 for HOPE Tuition Grant. I will use most of this for school, but what happens to the remainder? I know I get the extra textbook money back, but what about the rest?
If every single expense is covered and you will still have money left over, you will get the remainder of the check back. You can apply for extra money even if you know you have enough money. I did this in college to cover some extra expenses. But remember, a lot of these grants have rules, you need to keep a certain GPA and be enrolled full time. Good luck in college, it was the best time of my life!
